The selection of economizer materials must meet the following core requirements:

Temperature resistance: For high-temperature zones (>400℃), heat-resistant alloys such as Cr25Ni20 must be used; for medium- and low-temperature zones (≤400℃), Q235 low-carbon steel can be employed.
Corrosion Resistance: In high-sulfur coal environments, alloy steels containing chromium and nickel are required, or the corrosion resistance can be enhanced through aluminizing/ceramic coatings.
Mechanical Strength: For high-pressure boilers (>2.5 MPa), the pipe walls must be thickened (3.5–6 mm) or 20G seamless steel pipes must be used.
Economic viability: Low-carbon steel costs only one-third to one-fifth as much as stainless steel, making it suitable for small and medium-sized boilers.

Cast-iron economizers (corrosion-resistant but with a pressure rating ≤ 2.5 MPa) and steel-tube economizers (high-pressure rated and easy to maintain) should be selected based on the operating conditions.
